we have several holes in our ceiling and they are right in a row. It is like that in more then one place. We are also having a mold problem and we bought our house from the owner outside a real estate agency. We are worried that the owner knoew it had mold. At thios point we do not know how bad it is but we just want to know if he knew it .
You may very well have mold. One common reason for those holes would be there was a water leak from upstairs. Often times they will drill holes in the ceiling to drain the water faster. I’d definitely get it checked out soon.

Have it inspected for your own family health NOW. Once you know for sure you can act to fix the problem.
In Illinois the seller must reveal any know defects. Lots of luck on proving it.
